Discover CNIT 2.0
La Défense carries out its metamorphosis from business district to a place to live, work, relax, and connect with the wider community. Europe's largest business district is turning into a mixed-use destination that blends business, leisure, retail and housing, along with open green spaces, reimagined urban connections, and rich cultural life. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield plays a key role in the transformation of La Défense through innovative, ambitious development projects (Trinity Tower, Sisters Towers) and the constant renewal of our offer at Westfield Les 4 Temps and CNIT (Centre of New Industries and Technologies), a leading hub for retail in Continental Europe.
Together, Westfield Les 4 Temps and CNIT form a can’t miss leisure destination at the heart of La Défense, with complementary shopping and dining offers that cater to a wide variety of audiences (56.8 million visits in 2018). The gateway to one of France’s major transport hubs, CNIT, hosts millions of visitors every year under the world’s largest unsupported concrete vault—a true architectural marvel. Bringing together shops, restaurants, services, office spaces, as well as a great range of cultural and recreational activities, the centre offers amenities that fit changing customer expectations.
Building on our travel retail expertise, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield is beginning a new chapter in CNIT’s history, with the creation of a novel retail space directly linked to the future RER E train station and Coeur Transport multimodal hub. Set to open in 2022, and intended for all passengers and audiences of La Défense, this new shopping area will be all about fluidity, openness, and accessibility. Whether it’s everyday errands or shopping for pleasure, CNIT level -2 was designed to meet the needs of urban consumers, including 45 brand-new shops and a vibrant and varied dining offer, along with unique cultural programming. CNIT’s convention & exhibition space, managed by Viparis, is also getting a makeover with two amphitheatres and two reception halls, slated to welcome over 60 events annually.
The renewal of CNIT is part of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s broader vision that imagines the urban destinations of tomorrow to reinvent being together.
