A full makeover for LAX Terminal 1
On Friday, November 30, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield joined Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Southwest Airlines to celebrate the Grand Reveal of the new LAX Terminal 1 – a $500 million redevelopment that showcases new check-in and security checkpoint areas, a new area for baggage claim, and exciting new dining and retail destinations with state-of-the-art design.
Terminal 1 is the Group’s latest transformation at LAX. The project created 3,475 construction jobs and completely refreshed the terminal. The new offering comprises 22 shops and restaurants, including celebrated local brands like Urth Caffé, Trejo’s Tacos and Cassell’s Hamburgers. .
“Los Angeles is a city of dreamers and doers, and the reimagined Terminal 1 reflects the creativity at the heart of our city. Working together with Southwest Airlines and our partners, what we have created is more than a terminal that connects passengers to flights – it’s a destination in its own right.” – Mayor Eric Garcetti.
