In the face of the global COVID-19 outbreak, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has enacted a series of community and philanthropic actions, dedicating our resources, assets and connections to address the challenges faced by vulnerable populations in the communities in which we operate.
Providing educational support
In addition to supporting the most vulnerable communities affected by the COVID-19 crisis by providing urgent food and daily necessities, our teams across the US are also taking care to provide educational support to young people unable to attend school or access the necessary equipment required to continue their studies online.
In the Los Angeles region, we are working with the Culver City Education Foundation to offer Target gift cards to local families in need of educational supplies, while also donating games and crafts to the Boys and Girls Club of the San Fernando Valley – which is providing services to the families of essential workers.
In San Diego, our teams are supporting Mana de San Diego to purchase laptops to send to young women who don’t have their own home computers and lack the resources to continue their education and training online amidst ongoing stay-at-home orders.
In the New York area, our team has committed to provide art supplies to the New York City Fund for Public Schools for homeless children living in shelters during the pandemic.
In Maryland, we are donating funds to the local KID Museum to support virtual learning opportunities for low-income families identified through partners at Montgomery County Public Schools; as well as supporting the local Anne Arundel County Public Schools by donating essential school supplies to support online remote learning during the COVID-19 outbreak.
At Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, we are honoured to be able to make a difference in the local communities we serve, and will continue to play our part to help students across the US continue their education during the unprecedented challenges we face.
